SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY

PREAMBLE

Since its inception, the Ultra-Trail Harricana team has advocated an environmentally respectful approach in most of its actions and achievements. These values are at the heart of the reflections that guide decision-making, which has allowed the event to distinguish itself in many ways in terms of social, economic, and environmental development over the past few years. While this philosophy informally permeates the organizational culture, it became important to formalize the approach to ensure the continuity and consistency of actions and to send a clear and uniform signal among all team members, partners, collaborators, suppliers of the organization and, of course, our runners. It was also appropriate to adopt a global and long-term vision to structure and consolidate the efforts that still need to be deployed to continue reducing the impact of the projects carried out by Harricana Events on the environment. This sustainable development approach is in the very essence of trail running.

THUS,

Considering that sustainable development is a prerequisite for the sustainability of trail running;

Considering that Harricana Events is already engaged in a sustainable development approach and that this vision has always helped define the identity of the organization;

Considering that we want to reduce our ecological footprint in order to preserve natural environments and contribute to the fight against climate change;

Considering that we wish to optimize the local and regional impacts of our events by generating maximum socio-economic benefits in the short, medium, and long term;

Considering that Harricana Events is a legally constituted non-profit organization whose main mission is to create synergy between sports and cultural environments by organizing outdoor races and popular events that will serve to raise awareness and support social causes;

ÉVÉNEMENTS HARRICANA COMMITS TO:
