À ABOUT

Since its foundation in 2012, Événements Harricana has not stopped developing and refining itself. It is now one of the strongest and most credible trail-running event leaders in Quebec and Canada. Working on gradually expanding internationally with the help of partnerships with key players in the world ultramarathon circuit, Événements Harricana will increasingly promote Charlevoix’s gorgeous landscapes and unique tourist experiences around the world.

Événements Harricana was the vision of three co-founders, Sébastien Côté, Geneviève Boivin and Sébastien Boivin, who were driven by the desire to raise funds for the MS Canada after Sébastien Boivin was diagnosed with the disease. Their complimentary talents, ideas and experience, combined with their ability to rally a broad community of partners and collaborators, led to the creation of a unique event that would quickly attract notice on Quebec’s event scene.

The Événements Harricana Organization

Événements Harricana is a non-profit organization with the mission to develop and promote trail running and, by extension, to encourage healthy habits and outdoor activities, by organizing events designed to benefit social or community causes.

Other activities have been added to Évènements Harricana’s annual schedule in recent years, such as the Trails in Motion trail-running film tour in Quebec in 2017, the production of the Virée Nordique de Charlevoix in 2019, Les Rencontres du Trail in 2021, the TransCharlevoix stage race, which is in its second edition, and the 2023 additions: the FestiTrail du Massif de Charlevoix and L’Échappée de l’Isle-aux-Coudres.

Mission

Our goal is to make Événements Harricana the most influential and credible driving force of the trail-running community in Canada by proactively and creatively contributing to the development of the discipline.

Objectives

  • Offer participants, volunteers and partners a unique and memorable experience

  • Make it possible for everyone to take part in trail-running challenges in a safe, controlled environment

  • Promote trail running among the public

  • Take a leading role in eco-responsibility and good practices

  • Support social causes and raise awareness

Team

Our nature- and adventure-loving team members from different professional backgrounds enjoy investing their experience and knowledge into our projects.

The Ultra-Trail Harricana of Canada team is made up of people who are passionate about trail running and have been involved in the running community for many years. Complementary, enthusiastic and creative, they and the members of the board of directors are always thinking of ways to improve the experience at an event. They are supported by a pool of talented and dedicated volunteers from across Quebec.
